In general, you should be able to do most all of your normal activities within a few days of your
lasik eye surgery. However, there are a few guidelines that most
lasik surgeons recommend;
Wait at least a day before showering
after lasik eye surgery. If you accidentally get soap or shampoo into your eyes you will be tempted to rub them. Also, heavy water pressure could dislodge the flap
that is trying to re-attach after lasik eye surgery.
Refrain from wearing eye makeup for the next few days
after lasik eye surgery. You don’t want to risk irritating your eyes and rubbing them. You also don’t want particles of makeup in your eye interfering with
the healing process after lasik eye surgery.
Wear sunglasses when outdoors for a few days
after lasik eye surgery. Bright light may bother you shortly after your
laser eye surgery. Your sensitivity to bright light will improve as your healing process progresses.
Avoid swimming for a few days
after lasik eye surgery (this includes hot tubs).
In general, avoid activities where things could possibly get into you eyes (dirt, dust, sawdust, avoid cutting onions) and avoid activities that could potentially injure your eyes
after lasik eye surgery.
